"Beware: Bait-and-switch tactics and nonexistent customer support

A few months ago, I reached out for a home insurance quote and agreed to bundle auto insurance for a discount, setting the auto policy to start a month later when my existing coverage ended.

At 4:00 PM on the Friday before my policy was set to begin, they called to tell me my auto premium was jumping by $80 a month due to a "speeding ticket from a year ago." This gave me less than an hour before close of business to accept the hike, scramble for another provider, or risk driving uninsured the next day.

The issue? That ticket does not exist. I pulled my official DMV record, and it is completely clean. When I pressed the company for details, they could provide zero documentation and instead pawned me off on a third-party contact number where nobody ever picks up. For the past two months, I have followed up weekly, but the agent still refuses to give me a straight answer or resolve the issue.

Springing a sudden, unsubstantiated rate hike at the very last second feels like a deliberate bait-and-switch. Take your business elsewhere."

"You know, it’s my fault for procrastinating about changing my insurance policies. When my home insurance went up, I had to start looking around for better rates. State Farm was one of the first insurance companies I contacted. When JT told me what my premiums were going to be.. I was already sold! I said either way, I am switching from Geico (whom I’ve been with for almost 2 decades) and the crazy part was, I still had plans to stay with Geico for my car insurance (cuz to me, I thought it was cheap) when I asked JT to quote me on my auto insurance, it was even cheaper than Geico! On top of that, I got a discount for bundling which also saved me 800.00 for my homeowners insurance! It was a no brainer for me, better coverage and much cheaper! After getting all of my quotes, I jokingly said.. “being with the same insurance company is like being in a relationship that you were so faithful to, but they never treat you right." Until one day, you decided to start looking and you tell your old insurance company that you’re leaving but now they wanna know why? What can we do to fix this?” Well, it’s too late to try and fix this, should have treated your current customers right and maybe we won’t be looking! 😂

All y'all insurance companies out there.. take note! We can and will go somewhere else! So, treat us right while you still have us as customers!"
